Updated health and safety guidance
[Learning & Teaching Building from North Portland Street]As of this week, all Faculties and Professional Services will be providing on-campus services from Monday to Friday between 9am-5pm, while other services – such as Strathclyde Sport, the Library, Security and Estates – will continue to have a presence on campus seven days a week, as many of them have done throughout the past challenging two years.
The COVID-19 return to campus process has been streamlined, removing much of the paperwork that was required in the early days of the pandemic.

The Sustainability in Action Exhibition<https://universityofstrathclyde.newsweaver.com/cvg4pnmkid/amflig6q7c6w5sb93d38j4/external?email=true&a=5&p=61792489&t=31139365> launched last month to mark 30 years of the MEnvS Environmental Studies/MSc Environmental Studies/MSc in Sustainability & Environmental Studies – one of the longest sustainability degrees in the UK.
A joint initiative between the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the University’s Centre for Sustainable Development, the exhibition’s 34 photographs showcase how alumni from this degree are contributing to ‘Sustainability in Action’ in a variety of jobs globally – and are now being displayed at three sites at the University as well as online.

Case study: encouraging student interaction

Dr Clare Hoskins, Reader in Bionanotechnology in Strathclyde’s Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry, is a leader in cancer nanomedicine development with special interests in stimuli-responsive and intelligent materials for precision pancreatic cancer therapy

The National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) has been selected to design and manufacture the trophy for a new award launched by the First Minister celebrating innovative Scottish manufacturers who champion fair work and diversity while investing in skills and sustainability.
NMIS engineers Robert Lynch and Jayne Nichol are overseeing the development and manufacture of the physical trophy in collaboration with apprentices and graduates from West College Scotland, General Electric (GE), and Thales.
