Day pass bookings are now open

Bookings can be made up to two weeks in advance, and staff are currently able to book up to two day passes per week.
This does not affect car park users who already have an annual permit in our other car parks – those permits are guaranteed for the whole academic year.

Interim changes to special and recorded deliveries

[James Weir Building]Currently, our contractor for franking services, Quadient, is negotiating with Royal Mail on their procedural changes that affect our ability to send special and recorded delivery items on behalf of departmental staff.
In the meantime, departmental staff can achieve payment for their items by using this Royal Mail link<https://universityofstrathclyde.newsweaver.com/cvg4pnmkid/1fu61mqg9enw5sb93d38j4/external?email=true&a=5&p=62320707&t=31139368>, printing off the price label and attaching it to the mail.
We can then ensure delivery of the mail as usual.

Module leaders (Class Co-ordinator or equivalent) should ensure that they activate Module Evaluation in Myplace and select appropriate dates for their module to be included at least three days in advance (i.e. by the end of day on a Wednesday to go live on the Monday of the following week).

Astrid, a Teaching Associate in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, is attending COP 27 in Egypt as part of the Association of Commonwealth Universities’ Future’s Climate Research Cohort, a group of 26 early career researchers from all over the world.
She tells us about her research in satellite image processing and how watching the film Twister helped inspire her future career, as well as previewing her takeover of the University's Instagram account this Friday (11 November).

[Eileen Hunter, Client Support Co-Ordinator at TIC, with intern Mitchell]Project SEARCH began its ninth year at Strathclyde in August – providing work placements (internships) for a cohort of 12 young autistic people or people with a learning disability so they can develop their skills and become ready for work.

Hosted by the Equality & Diversity Office, the session is open to all staff members.
Microbehaviours, micro-aggressions and micro-affirmations describe the small ways in which we interact with each other – some positive, some negative, some neutral – which can either make people feel excluded and ignored or valued and included.
In this session, we will explore Microbehaviours, their causes, how to manage micro-aggressions, and how to foster an inclusive environment at Strathclyde by promoting micro-affirmations.
