Hi everyone,
Just a quick update from SCOPE (Strathclyde Student Community for Optics, Physics & Engineering) regarding an event coming up for both SCOPE members and non-members to attend. On November 13th & 14th, we will be hosting a livestream of the Photonics Online Meetup (POM) 2023.
"POM is an entirely free virtual conference geared towards bringing together a community of early career and established researchers from universities, industry, and government to amplify the role of optics and photonics in daily life."
This meet-up will be focused on four key areas:
* Biomedical Imaging Technologies
* Smart Data-Driven Imaging
* Light-Assisted Microfabrication
* Hot Topics
As an official POM-hub, we will be hosting our livestream in the Teaching and Learning building (exact room to be announced) from 3pm to 7pm on each day (10am-2pm EST) and we'll be providing food and drink for all attending.
For more information, check out the official website<https://photonicsonlinemeetup.org/>. Also, if you want to attend, please fill in this tiny form<https://forms.office.com/e/BuknG0ZV5P> so we can get an idea of numbers. We'd especially like to extend the invitation to non-SCOPE members as well. We will have committee members in person to help anyone who wants to join to sign up for free.
Hope to see a lot of you there,
Iain MacCuish
