Subject: Going green: Debating the socio-economic impacts of achieving Net Zero- opportunities for ECRs to obtain funding to attend this event in Southampton on 24th Jan 2024

Dear colleague

As part of our engagement with the UK Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), Strathclyde is co-hosting with University College London and the University of Southampton a one-day workshop at Southampton which will take place on the 24th January 2024

The intention of the one-day event is to bring together researchers - both established and early career - policy makers and industry professionals with the aim to mobilise collective knowledge and experience to identify the most pressing, cross-sector research questions surrounding a Net Zero future. The conference will include a plenary session, small group discussions as well as a poster event where early career researchers will have the opportunity to showcase their work. The ambition here is to ensure this is as interdisciplinary as possible. A short brief is attached for further information.

This will be an excellent opportunity for networking, establishment of new partnerships etc. and with this in mind we have funds available to support attendance for 2 ECRs from each faculty to attend. If you would like to apply for funding to attend the conference please complete this application form<https://forms.office.com/Pages/DesignPageV2.aspx?subpage=design&FormId=YwceYzMV60elzQRXvuWUTsK_maKJRphMphlgUspglKpUMVlKSlpCRlFYQk5HSTExUzY3VlBUMjEzQi4u&Token=d82c8356ee4c444185f6a55f6d991ccd>. Please note that the closing date for applications is Friday 8 December 2023.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me.

Best wishes

Stella
