Hi all!

I hope everyone is enjoying the wintry weather and looking forwards to the Christmas break!

My name is Matt Alderton and I currently sit on the PGR faculty student staff liaison group as the representative for physics. As part of a wider conversation around departmental cohesion we are looking to start a physics 'in-reach' team to put together a small number of social events across the year to promote interaction between the different PGR groups and also between PGR/PGT/UG/Staff.

Ideally I'm looking for a rep from each of the research themes (IOP, plasma optics and nanoscience) but the more volunteers the better, I'm only anticipating a handful of hours across the semester which may be registered for the PG Cert.

Finally, a reminder that I can raise any issues that need a voice at the faculty level so feel free to get in contact if you would like to talk and have your voice heard!
