Taking place in the Learning & Teaching Building – one wing of which is named in her honour – Dame Jocelyn will be joined by a number of eminent Strathclyde women with varied backgrounds, interests and expertise, in a conversation exploring themes related to the experiences of women in the workplace as well as this year’s IWD theme, ‘Inspire Inclusion’.

USS Additional pension contributions
All updates to AVC elections must be made by 5 March
[Financial planning]Additional voluntary contributions (AVCs) are a form of tax efficient saving. USS members who wish to make an additional pension contribution (either as a lump sum or a monthly amount) in the 2023/24 tax year would need to have this deducted in the March 2024 payroll.
In order to meet payroll deadlines, all updates to AVC elections on the MYUSS portal must be made prior to 5 March 2024 .
The pensions office cannot provide any financial advice but can provide information on the process and the maximum amounts that can be contributed.

As a socially progressive employer, we recognise the importance of providing support to colleagues who balance their work with the responsibility of being a carer for family members or friends.
The Strathclyde Carers' Group is a support network for all staff who provide care for someone who is ill, old and/or frail, disabled or who requires significant assistance.
Last week, the Group held its first on-campus event of the year, an information session on Autism, led by Gillian McConnell and Leanne McNeill from the School of Education.
