Just a reminder that there's still time to register for Prof Dame Jocelyn Bell-Burnell's talk "You are Made of Star Stuff". Prof Bell-Burnell will describe how the chemical elements that are found in our bodies came into existence, and came to be in our bodies. Everyone is very welcome to attend.

The event will be held in JA317 (John Anderson Building) at 5.30pm on Thursday 7th March.

Prof Bell-Burnell is a graduate the University of Glasgow and the University of Cambridge. Her most famous discovery was that of pulsars (fast rotating neutron stars that emit EM radiation from their magnetic poles) in 1967 while a postgraduate student. This discovery would lead to the award of a Nobel Prize in 1974 to her supervisor Antony Hewish and to Sir Martin Ryle https://www.nobelprize.org/prizes/physics/1974/summary/. She served as president of the Royal Astronomical Society (RAS) from 2002 till 2004 and then as president of the Institute of Physics from 2008 till 2010.
