Congratulations to Security Warden Tanya Forsyth who was named the AUCSO Security Officer of the Year at a ceremony in Liverpool last week.
Colin Montgomery, Head of Security said: “Tanya is a hardworking, conscientious and enthusiastic security warden who is committed to protecting the University community.
"This award validates her efforts and recognises the value of our security team in our efforts to provide competitive advantage to the University."

Staff to encourage students to enter

The brief for students is if they have an idea for a product that could make life better, and can develop a basic prototype that impresses the judges, they could win up to £5,000 with the Innovation Challenge.
Every applicant to the Innovation Challenge has the option to receive support from Strathclyde Inspire advisors.

[Sylvia Scott]Sylvia Scott, Clerical Assistant in Estates Finance, retires this week after working for the University for 48.5 years.
She is currently the longest-serving staff member in Professional Services, and the second longest-serving in the overall University.

Professor Francesco Sindico’s secondment ended 28 March
[https://universityofstrathclyde.newsweaver.com/v3files/shard1/85313/81/1c630f89468f0d8e109e16.png]Professor Francesco Sindico worked with the Government from September 2021 in the Islands Team where he led the Carbon Neutral Islands project, a PfG (programme for government commitment) that supports six islands in Scotland to become carbon neutral by 2040.
With the ending of his secondment, Professor Sindico is keen to bring back his Government experience to his role in the University and to his students in particular.

This has allowed us to provide internal 'What's the Harm' - Self Harm Skills and Awareness Training to staff and students. The course explores myths around self-harm and helps participants to understand how to support someone who may be using self-harm as a coping strategy.

Most sessions will last between 30-45 minutes.
