[Train]Results from the survey will be used to drive improvements in travel facilities and support available for staff who travel into campus. Past surveys have helped improve parking systems, bring in funding for cycling infrastructure and help measure our progress on sustainable travel.

The event, held in the TIC and organised by the University’s Workplace Wellbeing Team and the Business School, featured guest speaker Helen Tomlinson, Head of Talent and Inclusion (UK and Ireland) for the Adecco Group the UK Government’s first-ever Menopause Champion.

Each year our Widening Access team runs the Outward Bound STAR Challenge for first and second year widening access students who may have had barriers in accessing higher education and achieving their full potential.

Last week, one of this year’s Honorary Graduates, renowned French footballer and anti-racism activist Lilian Thuram, was welcomed back to campus for a conversation on Race, Equality and Heritage as part of our Black History Month programme.
The event attracted a large and diverse audience, including pupils from St Andrew’s and St Bride’s High School in East Kilbride and St Mungo’s Academy (pictured) in the east end of Glasgow, as well as representatives from the East Kilbride Integration Network (EKin), a charity which welcomes and supports new migrants to the area.

[Kenneth Norrie]Emeritus Professor Kenneth Norrie will give the 22nd Kilbrandon Lecture entitled ‘Who then, in law, is my parent?’.
The lecture will examine the various ways in which the law defines a “parent” and explore, through case-law, how adult disputes can complicate the issue. Professor Norrie will also consider why legal recognition of parenthood should be regarded in law as a stable concept.

The British Sleep Society (BSS) has advocated for the abolition of the twice-yearly clock changes in the UK and the restoration of permanent Standard Time (Greenwich Mean Time or GMT).
The recommendation is based on scientific evidence highlighting the adverse effects of the clock change and Daylight Saving Time (DST) on sleep and circadian health.

This technology has capacity in various applications, including prevention of smuggling and enabling navigation in GPS-denied environments.
Dr Dominic Hunter, of the Department of Physics, has received a Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng) UK Intelligence Community Postdoctoral Research Fellowship for the research.

This training is being delivered by Glasgow & Clyde Rape Crisis to support staff who may take disclosures of Gender-Based Violence, and to ensure are confident in doing so.
The training runs over three two-hour sessions (six hours total). Please note that participants must commit to attending Levels one to three. Each level will be offered twice and you are able to ‘mix and match’ sessions.
