Subject: Kinning Park Complex British Science Week 2019
Dear Araceli,
Thank you for getting in touch with us. Basically we are looking for help/advice prior to the day to plan some good activities and hopefully some volunteers who are knowledgable in science and electronics who can help facilitate workshops on the day. We are in the early stages of planning so are open to suggestions. Anything that maybe visually has a wow! factor or is not too complicated.
We have a budget of £500 for materials and food / refreshments. As I mentioned in our advert we are keen that some activities that don't rely too heavily on the english language so some kids won't feel excluded.
Below I've written some ideas down that we have taken from the suggestions sent through from the British Science Association but nothing is set in stone yet. I've also attached the info packs where these suggestions came from.
Hope this helps. Let me know if there is other information you need just now or if you'd like to chat further in person or on the phone if thats easier.
British Science Week Super Sunday at Kinning Park Complex.
SUNDAY 17TH MARCH
11am-4pm
Should be journey themed I think - 25 years since the Eurotunnel was built and that is the theme British Science Week are going with.
Here is some suggestions that i’ve taken from the packs that the British Science Festival sent through. These are low cost and pretty straightforward for people to facilitate. There are activities suited from nursery - 14 years.
Kid’s Activities
Time Capsule
Brain Game
Poster Competition - Play worker
(comes with a form so all contact details and primary school secondary school age needed nursery to S3 can participate)
Perfume Making - need a small part of the budget for materials
Wind-Up Car (Energy)
Recreate a face (DNA)
Thanks again,
Best Wishes
Clare
