The Royal Anniversary Trust has written to the Principal to give advance
notice of the next round of Queen's Anniversary Prizes. This award is
part of the UK Honours system. The University has not been as successful
in this competitive process as it might be -- we won one in 1996
(Electrical Power Engineering).

We are allowed one entry, and this email is to ask you to suggest one or
two areas within your Faculty for consideration. The award is for
"Innovative work of outstanding quality which is producing
transformational impact and benefits".

Recommendations for Prizes are made by the Prime Minister to The Queen
acting on the advice of the trust.

Best wishes

Tom
