Dear Head of Department,

CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FOR NEW VIPs 2013-14

Supported by the Learning Enhancement team I am in the process of
working with colleagues across the University who are interested in
setting up new VIP teams for the next academic session. We have
scheduled two development workshops to enable us to support the
application process and, where required, facilitate making contacts
across Faculties. The two workshops will take place *10.00-12.00 on 20
and 22 August*. The venue will be confirmed nearer the time when we know
numbers.

In addition to those who have already contacted us, it would be helpful
if you could alert staff in your department about the opportunity to
attend these workshops and develop their own proposals for new VIPs.
This year we are asking all new proposals to complete an expression of
interest which will be considered by the new VIP Board. A small amount
of resource is available to support each new VIP (up to £1000). For a
reminder about what constitutes a VIP and to see existing projects,
colleagues can visit the website www.strath.ac.uk/viprojects
<http://www.strath.ac.uk/viprojects> or they can contact myself or one
of the Learning Enhancement Advisers in the Education Enhancement Team.

Colleagues who wish to attend one of the events above should email
*educationenhancement at strath.ac.uk
<mailto:educationenhancement at strath.ac.uk>*, giving their *name,
department, and other disciplines they are interested to collaborate
with, indicating if they already have contacts they are able to
collaborate with*.

Thank you for your on-going support with the VIP initiative.

Professor Stephen Marshall
