[Academic] Level 3-5 Exam Call, 11th Nov Deadline

Apologies for the blanket email first announcement.

Dear All,

*_Call for Level 3-5 January exams, DEADLINE 11^th November 2013_*

Please note:

Nigel's new check sheet is attached.


I am in charge of receiving and formatting the exams - electronic files 
to be sent as *both Word and pdf*.

All level 3-5 classes (except PH350, PH451) should be THREE hours long. 
Exam comprises Section A (40%) containing basic questions that cover the 
key learning outcomes and Section B-C (60%) comprising more demanding 
questions that explore a student's understanding of the subject. For 
multiple lecturers students must do an equal mark of questions from each 
lecturer (if the lecture amounts are equal).

Handwritten solutions only (Ext. examiner requirement), indicate seen / 
seen-similar / unseen.

*For lecture courses with >2 lecturers, flexibility with the format is 
allowed.*


Last year's PH458 exam is attached (as Word and pdf), to use as a 
template, as it was highlighted by an external as good practice. NOTE 
from learning with Semester 1 exams, it is advisable to break Section A 
into a small number ~1-2 questions (with subdivisions), as the marks for 
individual complete questions are now entered on the marks return 
spreadsheets.
