Dear Shirley,

We spoke earlier today on the phone many thanks for your offer to pass in my request for reading lists in Quantum Mechanics and Relativity.

By way of background information I'm a physics graduate of Strathclyde - year 1973 - quite some time ago and I'm now revisiting some areas that interested me as an undergraduate so any help I get would be for my own private study.

My thoughts go back to Strathclyde because my memories of the courses which were good ones. We had a great series of lectures on Quantum Mechanics from a lecturer called Leslie Bagnall and I still have the text book that went with the course by Cassels but sadly I do not have my original notes. Relativity was taught by Willie Deuchars again a very interesting series of lectures.

A great deal has changed in these fields since then and I could be doing with a few hints of where to start particularly with the mathematics.

A recommended reading list would be great but even better would be to have a short chat with one or two lectures depending how these subjects are taught now. I'm happy to phone in if that's possible.

In the meantime many thanks for any help you can give me.

Regards,

Charles
