[Academic] Visit by External Examiners - 14 March 2018

Dear All,

The external examiners will visit on the 14th March, primarily to have lunch with our graduating students in L4 and L5. We have never resisted any L4 MPhys student who wished to attend even if they are not expecting to finish this year, and it would be good were there to be a good turn out so I propose we continue to allow this slightly wider definition of the invitation list.

Can you please announce to students in L4 and L5 classes via Myplace and in class that they are invited to join the external examiners for lunch (use the free lunch as an incentive) on Wednesday the 14th March, from 1230-1400. The opportunity for completing students to meet the external examiners is a part of the IoP accreditation of our degrees.

The meeting will take place in JA5-02

Please ask students to contact Audrey by e-mail (audrey.mckinnon at strath.ac.uk to verify their intention to attend so we can arrange for catering, by Friday 9th ideally).

>From my review of the timetables this should allow all students to participate for at least an hour without disturbing any of the classes. There is one class that finishes at 1300, however I assume the students on that class can join at 1300.

For the avoidance of doubt we academics are NOT invited to this lunch.
