Dear all
Further to the email below, it has been agreed to make the process less
onerous, to ask for nominations to be provided. This will allow for the
Faculty panel to select a candidate then the final paperwork can be
submitted. In order to nominate a student, please complete the attached
form and submit by *Friday 8 May 2020.* The final paperwork for the
candidate chosen will be submitted by the original deadline.
Many thanks
Elaine

Dear all
I hope you are well. Every year the Alumni and Development Department
apply to the John Mather Charitable Trust for a ‘Rising Star Award’. The
Rising Star Award is a sum of money awarded to an outstanding student
put forward by the Faculty. Previous successful students have been
awarded £10,000. Alumni & Development take it in turns between the
faculties to nominate a student, and this year it has come back round to
Science. The award is for PG (PGT and PGR) and PhD students. Please
find further information attached.
If you have a student you would like to put forward for the award please
submit the following to Science Enquiries
<mailto:science-enquiries at strath.ac.uk> by *Monday 18 May 2020:*
i.A reference from student’s supervisor (please complete application
form attached)
ii.Personal statement from the student
iii.A copy of the student’s CV
Many thanks
Elaine
