[Academic] Important: Zoom videos being deleted

Hi Brian (now cc all),

Thanks - I also strongly think they should be kept. This causes unnecessary work for almost every academic, and we have better things to do than copying gigabytes of video lectures.

Can you not enquire if it is possible to install a “keep” option, so we can tag those lectures that should definitely not be deleted, whilst they just delete all the other ones, in case they need to free up some storage space.

All the best,

Stefan

Subject: [Academic] Important: Zoom videos being deleted

Dear All,

The University have just announced they are deleting all video recording from Zoom from 15 Jan.:

https://universityofstrathclyde.newsweaver.com/cvg4pnmkid/1cx7f6jmkbu1qp7xbycweq?email=true&lang=en&a=2&p=58313374&t=31139365

"If staff have teaching recordings still hosted on Zoom which are linked from Myplace, these should be downloaded and transferred to Microsoft Stream immediately."

Instructions on how to do this are given in the above link.

That'll keep the servers busy...

Regards,

Brian.
