Subject: Call for MSc projects (PH952) please respond till 17/01/2023
Dear All,
I am looking for propositions for the MSc projects this year, please. This year interest seems to be quite distributed covering all groups of the department but there is still a dominant need for experimental. Expectation is that every academic is supplying a project either directly or via a research assistant.
Please supply the project descriptions on the attached template to Melanie, e-mail: melanie.taylor at strath.ac.uk<mailto:melanie.taylor at strath.ac.uk> till 17/01/2023
You can agree with a student on a bespoke project till then and even later, but any project which is in the project booklet must then be distributed centrally.
Tentative timeline is
* 07/03/2023: students hand in project selection
* 22/05/2023: project start, literature review
* 05/06/2023: start of supervised work after progression decision of the first PGT board
* 24/07/2023 (TBC): progress review workshop, 8 min talk (formative, only students and project coordinator)
* 16/08/2023: report due
* 23/08-01/09/2023: vivas and talks.
Overall, the arrangement to start with a literature review already end of May gives the students a few more days on the project and more flexibility end of August to deal with extensions.
Thank you very much for providing project opportunities.
Regards,
Thorsten
