Dear all,

Now that we are approaching the middle of the term, the campus disability and wellbeing team have suggested new students will benefit from a reminder of expectations.

Could all all PDAs with a year 1 student arange to meet 1:1 with them for 15 mins between now and week 8.

You will need to

  *
Check for your Year 1 PDA students (https://pegasus.mis.strath.ac.uk -> Student Experience -> Your Student Responsibilities ). This information should be up to date.
  *
Find a suitable time to meet and send a personalised email to your Year 1 student with time, date and location

There is a list of useful information for setting this up below.

At the meeting please discuss how the course is going; explain the importance of regular attendance (correlates with success); ensure they knows when regular assigned work is due; and where to get support if they need it.

Please Report the outcome of the meeting (especially if the student didn’t show up to the arranged meeting!) via https://forms.office.com/e/0nUbR1C95n?origin=lprLink
and if urgent let either Gordon (as year coordinator) or the department DDC team know.

Thanks,

Ben

Ps. if emailing students before Thursday, please remind them of the EDI breakfast in the Departmental Common Room between 8:30 and 9:30 on the 24th.

Year 1 students should available at the following times:

Monday 12-2pm (otherwise in a lab session)
Tuesday 11 am – 1pm and 3pm – 5pm
Wednesday 9 am – 10 am and 12pm onwards (but not preferred)
Thursday 11 am – 12pm, 1pm – 2pm (not ideal)
Friday 9 am – 10 am and 12pm – 2pm
