More info about our career event speakers this year:

- Stephen Taylor (Technology Scotland) : With over 20 years of success in global sales, new business development, start-ups, consulting roles, and business management, Stephen's varied career has included spells at Schlumberger, Philips Semiconductors and Jabil. In addition, he has lectured in Further Education and been interim CEO for a camera start-up. Stephen is keen to use his experience to drive Scottish technology businesses and SMEs.

- Suzanne McEndoo did her PhD in quantum physics in Cork, Ireland some years ago. After that, she worked as a researcher on quantum information, while at the same time working on a quantum circus and writing stand-up comedy about her research. Now, Suzanne works in public engagement, talking about chemical engineering with school kids, and helping other researchers figure out how to engage people with their research.

- Dave Hughes the founder and Chief Technical Officer of Novosound. Novosound pushes the limits of ultrasonic imaging and measurement by exploiting Thin Film Technologies in current and untapped markets. Novosound spun out from the University of the West of Scotland after a £1.5M Seed round led by Par Equity and Kelvin Capital. Dr Hughes has a degree in Physics from the University of Glasgow, and an EngD in Medical Devices from Strathclyde University. After being introduced to the OSA Chapter at Edinburgh University, he decided to found a new chapter at the University of Strathclyde with a few of his fellow students. This was known as SCOSA (Strathclyde Chapter of OSA) and was instrumental in bringing the IONS (International OSA Network of Students) conference to Glasgow in 2009.
- Alison McLure is the National Manager (Scotland) for the Institute of Physics. Following graduating in physics from the University of Aberdeen, she went on to work for the Meteorological Office for ten years. Her variety of jobs included researching and developing instruments for the tops of mountains and forecasting the weather for the RAF, the BBC and British Antarctic Survey. Her next job was to manage a yacht marina in the West Coast of Scotland, before returning to the city to join the Scottish Executive Environment and Rural Affairs Department. She was seconded to the Scottish Leadership Foundation as their People Exchange Manager, before applying for her current post in the Institute of Physics. She has a Postgraduate Diploma in Outdoor Environmental and Sustainability Education and is a Fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society. She has also led scientific expeditions to the Arctic and Antarctic for British Schools Exploring Society.
