Financial support for PGR students facing financial hardship
The Trustees of the Thomas and Margaret Roddan Trust are offering a small number of bursaries of between £500 to £3,000 to postgraduates engaged in research for a higher degree.  Please note that students due to complete their studies or applicants due to begin their studies in September 2019 are NOT eligible.

Awards may be made to students having their ordinary residence in Scotland and studying anywhere in the world (including Scotland) or students having their ordinary residence outside Scotland and studying in Scotland.

Students must complete an application form, personal statement and provide financial details and a reference.  They will be required to prove hardship and detail how an award would help further their education and career goals. The Trustees will not favour applications to cover expenditure which should have been planned at the outset of the course such as required periods abroad and required field courses.  The Trustees are, of course, willing to consider applications where a student has suffered financial hardship through unexpected circumstances.

Completed applications must be returned to the Student Financial Support Team by Friday 7 June 2019 at 4pm.  Applications received after this time will NOT be eligible for consideration.

A maximum of ten applications (UG and PG) can be put forward by the University.  The Trustees will make every effort to intimate the results of applications by 31 August 2019.
