[Postgrad] PGs invited to UG welcome week

Hello everyone,

The exam results are in and we are expecting a bumper crop of new UGs.  Here in the UG teaching team we are hoping to make their first few weeks as welcoming as possible. Starting with Welcome Week (w/c 11th September) where we want to involve the whole of the department.

As key members of our academic and research community, we'd like to encourage PG students to come along to some of our planned events. Every day we will have BYOB* (bring your own butties) lunches with a variety of careers and research panels and talks. There will be a quiz (why not join your supervisor?) and a project fair for finalists.

Your help needed:

We are looking for PGs to speak to our year 4 and 5 students about doing research projects so bring an existing research poster, enjoy free snacks and vote for the best poster!

We are also looking for 2-3 PG students who would be willing to take part in a panel discussion about early-careers.  In particular we are looking for people to talk about the decision they made that got them to where they are today and where they are going next. If you'd like to join in this panel, please contact me!
