Faculty KE lectures
The 6th of our 8 annual lectures on knowledge exchange will take place on the 10th May at 12pm. BioCity will give an introduction to the concepts within their Develop Course. The DEVELOP programme is based around the Lean Start Up methodology and utilises a set of highly effective tools and processes specifically tailored to the healthcare and life sciences industry. Rather than engaging in months of business planning, the method assumes that all you have is a series of untested hypotheses - basically, good guesses - about the product's utility, who the customer is, who will pay for the product, regulatory requirements, IP, clinical trial needs and objectives, etc. The method also assumes that however elegant your existing business plan (if any), the reality is that most of it is wrong.
Go to https://bookings.strath.ac.uk/Home/Course/2735 to book before Thursday 3rd May. Lunch will be provided.
The lectures are intended for postgraduate students, researchers and staff. Through the 8 lectures we will give you an introduction to Knowledge Exchange (KE) and will provide you with information on how to generate impact and Knowledge Exchange (KE) income from your research. Subjects will include protecting your intellectual property, licensing, consultancy, entrepreneurship and new company formation.
The remaining lecture dates are below.
2) 7th June 2018 - rescheduled lecture on spinning out a company, Dr Matt Baker (Chemistry) and Dr Mark Hegarty (CEO, ClinSpecDx Ltd) https://bookings.strath.ac.uk/Home/Course/2733
